The English Short Mat Bowls Association (ESMBA) which is Sport England’s recognised National Governing Body for Short Mat Bowls in England is pleased to be working alongside ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England) in supporting Village Halls Week.

Short Mat Bowls Clubs can be a lifeline for many village halls as they are regular users throughout the year, Village Halls in turn provide an ideal location to house a Short Mat Bowls Club thus becoming an ideal partnership in the making.

The ESMBA recognises the need to foster good relationships with Village Hall Committees and by working alongside ACRE will strive to help them in the setting up of a Short Mat Bowls Club in their village. In the first instance village halls should email enquiries@esmba.co.uk for further information.

Owners: Ann & Tony Holland (Bowlers both).

We had been Bowling since 1984 when in 1992 we embarked on opening a Bowls Shop - there being no other outlets in the area. We knew we didn't want premises in the City - too difficult to enter such crazy terrain, so after scouting for something outside the city we eventually found an empty shop in a quiet housing estate off the Nottingham Ring Road.

On finding the empty shop we have done work on it and are now enjoying Bowlers of all ages and experiences popping in to buy, chat, seek advice, moan about the weather, the groundsman, etc. but we love it!

The bowls Shop Online As time and technology moved on we realised that we needed to join the crowd and go with the flow. However, neither of us were capable of building a website, but we found some wonderful technicians to get us up and running into the tech world, and over the last ten years the online store has become the major part of our business.

If you click on the link below you will see the website which we hope you find appealing and helpful.
