1. Step 1 is to complete a written paper requiring the use of the 2020 current laws of the game. It must be completed within four months, unless otherwise agreed by the Umpires Director and the pass mark is 96%.
2. Once you have passed the written paper, a practical exam on a bowls mat will be arranged at a venue and on a date agreed between you and your examiner.
3. At the same time as the practical exam takes place, you will be verbally tested on your understading of the laws and umpiring principles.
